The Klein Family

THE KLEIN FAMILY

	Roy and Ruth Klein Roy Klein, together with his parents and siblings, moved east from South Dakota in l935. They purchased the farm with some help from local family members during those Depression Days. Life was hard, but soon Roy found love with a local girl, Ruth Mengel, and they married September19, l943. During the spring of '06 we lost Roy after he broke his leg and had surgery repairing the damage. It was too much for him and he passed away April 23. March 10, 2009, the family was by Ruth's side as she passed away at the farm. Ruth will always be remembered for her flower gardens and ability to prepare the best meal. Both Roy and Ruth will be missed by their farm family, but their legacy will live on as the the farm grows and prospers.
	Layne and Beth Klein Layne and Beth have been married 30 years,and have, in that time, taken over responsibility of running the farm's day to day operations. They have had four children, all wonderful and near perfect in every way. Amanda, Rebecca, Jacob, and Rachel have all begun the journey of making a life away from the farm and their parents, but some may end up returning after all.
	Rachel Rachel is currently a Senior attending Kutztown University. She is graduating in December with a degree in Sociology. She is currently working on the weekends at the farm and taking care of her niece, Princess Alison. Chris Chris is Rachel's boyfriend who spends the weekends working at the farm.
	Jacob Jacob is currently living on the farm and working full time. He is a valuable resource on the farm and to his parents. When not working with his father, he is out with his friends, shopping for farm equipment, or playing with his "son" Buddy and other "son" Ruger. Amanda Amanda is Jacob's girlfriend who milks cows and tends to the store.
	Rebecca and Ryan Geoffroy Rebecca and Ryan were married on December 18th, 2004 in Easton. They both graduated with their Masters of Science degree in Physician Assistant in August of 2005. Becky and Ryan now live in Savoy, MA where both are employeed in the medical field. They try to visit as often as possible; bringing their puppy "Ellie" along to play with all the other farm dogs. Becky and Ryan had their first child, Jonah Ryan on October 29, 2007. Their second child, Tesher Jaycob was born on March 4th, 2010.
	Jonah Ryan Geoffroy Jonah was born October 29, 2007 in Mass. He is a happy baby who loves his mommy and daddy. He also like to visit grandma, grandpa, aunts and uncles at the farm. Jonah's favorite past-times include rides with Uncle Jake on the four-wheeler, tractor rides with Pappy, golf cart rides with Grandma and making all the farm animal noises found on the farm. Next time you see him, ask him to do his rooster and peacock...very impressive.
	Matthew and Amanda Zavacky Amanda and Matthew live in Wapwallopen, PA where Amanda is a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher. Matthew is a Social Worker who works with children with behavior difficulties. On most weekends, you will find them working at the farm. Matt is the all around handyman on the farm and Amanda enjoys working in the store and cheesehouse. In their sparetime, they enjoy watching movies. Amanda is an avid scrapbooker and Matt loves music. Their second child, Evan Matthew was born on March 29th, 2010.
	Alison Beth Zavacky Ali was born on July 15, 2008. She spends most of her weekends at the farm with her grammy, pappy and aunts and uncles. Alison loves her golf cart rides, tractor rides, and 4-wheeler rides she gets to take. Ali also is a master of the farm animal noises.
	Kevin, Lori, Stephanie and Stacy Brewer Lori is the youngest daughter of Roy and Ruth and with her husband Kevin, own Brewer Farms in Bangor, PA. They have 2 daughters, Stephanie and Stacy. Stacy attends Bangor Area High School and is very involved with 4-H, school and sports. Stephanie is freshman at Delaware Valley College where she is majoring in Dairy Science. Lori has taken over cheesemaking duties on the farm while Beth is taking some time off. She's working hard at making sure all the cheese shelves are filled and everything stays good and fresh. Stephanie & Stacy also help out in the store and with the cheesemaking.
	Leonard, Christa and Renate Klein Leonard is the eldest of the four Klein children. With his wife Christa, they have three children and four grandchildren. They currently reside in Wilmington Delaware. Renate (who is pictured on the left with her parents) is heavily involved with the AT Children's Project. 	Joel, Maria, Maddie, Aiden and Clara Hollenbeck Maria is the eldest daughter of Leonard and Christa. Her family lives in North Carolina where her husband Joel is in the book industry. The kids love to come to the farm and you will find them "wandering" around looking for the kittens and tractor rides.
	Nicholas, Jennifer, Henry and Aryeh Strauss-Klein Nicholas is the only son of Leonard and Christa. The family is relocating this summer to St. Paul, MN for Jen's new job as a cantor in a Jewish synagogue. Henry is a great big brother to his new brother Aryeh born on March 9, 2009. When they are at the farm, Henry enjoys walking around describing all that he sees to his mommy and daddy.
